Micron Engineering,LLC is a consulting firm. Most work involves the development of breadboard and prototype devices and equipment primarily in the Medical Device, Diagnostic, and Biotechnology industry. Services include design and fabrication of instruments, automated systems, and medical devices.
Services provided can be anything from Prototypes from "napkin drawings" to full Project design of integrated systems with full project and engineering documentation for regulatory submisstion.
Micron Engineering has a complete machine shop and electronics lab on site. If needed, all work can be done to meet the appropriate regulatory compliance requirements of ISO and FDA for Design Control, Quality Systems and other compliance requirements.
Micron Engineering is owned and operated by Paul C. Harris, Ph.D. Dr Harris has over 40 years industry experience in the field of Medical Devices and Diagnostic system R&D. Dr Harris has held senior positions at Beckman Clinical Clinical Systems, Genetic Systems Sanofi (now part of Bio-Rad). Dr Harris served as Director of R&D at STC Diagnostics (now Orasure Diagnostics) and as Vice President of R&D and Chief Science Officer at Response Biomedical Corp.
Dr Harris started Micron Engineering as a full-time service company in 1998. Since then he has consulted for several Medical Device and Diagnostic Companies including: Northwest BioTherapeutics, International BioProducts (now part of 3M Medical), Spacelabs, Qiagen Genomics, Cypress BioSciences, PATH, MalarVx Corp., and Response Biomedical Corporation.
Dr Harris holds a PhD in Molecular Biology-Immunology from the University of California-Irvine. He has numerous publications and 26 issued US patents.
